Are you interested in the area where you live? Do you, when you are in your neighbourhood or in Horsham town centre ever think ‘How was that allowed to happen?’ Would you like to have a say on what’s planned in Horsham? If you are a voter and live in the Denne neighbourhood area, which includes Horsham town centre  then you can by joining  and becoming a Neighbourhood Councillor on Horsham Denne Neighbourhood Council.

There are 11 positions for people who can act as non-political ‘councillors’ to represent the views of themselves and other residents when consulted by Horsham District Council, WSCC and other groups on issues affecting Horsham. These can be for example, on planning applications, policing, Horsham Park, HDC planning strategies, parking, youth issues to name a few.

Denne Neighbourhood Council generally meets once a month for an evening meeting in Horsham.  Councillors are also kept well informed of news, events and information by email. You may also wish to attend other relevant meetings and committees.  There are current vacancies. I joined Horsham Denne Neighbourhood Council in late 2009.  I have lived off Hills Farm Lane for over twenty years & have a special interest in the West of Horsham Development & am a member of that sub-committee. I also represent Denne Neighbourhood Council on issues to do with roads & transport.
I took over as Chairman on the 1st April 2012. I sit on the Planning Committee with particular responsibility for the West of Horsham development.

Martin Bruton - Vice Chairman

I have been a member of Horsham Denne Neighbourhood Council  since 2007. I chair the Planning Committee and my remit also includes police matters and older peoples issues. I am also currently the Chairman of Horsham District Older Peoples Forum.
I represent the NC as a Director and Management Committee member on Horsham Town Community Partnership and I'm also a local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator and member of the Horsham District NHW Association Committee. 

Ian Botting
Horsham Denne Neighbourhood Council Member since 2011. he is also responsible for Emergency Planning and representing HDNC on the Horsham Association of Local Councils

Joined the Neighbourhood Council in January 2012 and is currently the Treasurer.

Judy Pounds
I joined Horsham Denne Neighbourhood Council at the beginning of 2012 and sit on the Planning Committee. I have lived in Horsham since 1981. I have a background in HR and coaching and worked at the Citizens Advice Bureau for many years.  I also have experience of running my own retail business in Horsham Town Centre.

Jane Apostolou

Jane served Horsham Denne NC as Chairman until March 2012 when she stood down in order to concentrate on her role as Chairman of Horsham Town Community Partnership
Jane sits on the Planning Committee of Denne NC.


Andrew Dickinson - Tree Warden

Andrew joined Horsham Denne NC as our tree warden in 2013. He investigates all planning applications in respect of trees in the Denne NC area and makes his report and recommendation to the Denne NC planning committee.

Nigel Hillpaul
Nigel has joined Horsham Denne NC in June 2015 and also sits on the Planning Committee.
